Race weekend

Schedule, parking & spectators

Two days, zero guesswork: everything below is built so that at 5 AM on race morning, nobody in your car is asking questions. Staying over or eating out? That's the Plan Your Stay page.

Packet pickup, then make an afternoon of it

Noon – 4 PM

Packet Pickup: Sentinel Bandstand (the Gazebo)

302 W. Main St, Sackets Harbor Grab your bib, hoodie, sticker and goody bag.

Then stay a while. Our packet pickup sponsor The Boathouse is steps away for a waterside lunch; browse Main St, hit Junk in the Trunk, and toast tomorrow (gently) at The Whiskey Coop. The 360° photo booth will be running, so get your "night before" video.

The short version

No gear check needed: start, finish and parking are all in one spot. Someone else can collect your packet, but we'd rather hand it to you. Can't make Saturday? Race-day pickup runs 5:30–7:00 AM, but Saturday is calmer, and there's lunch.

Parking & directions

Free, beside the start, open at 5:00 AM

Punch into your GPS

614 Creekside LaneSackets Harbor, NY 13685

Then follow the "Race Parking" signs and the volunteers' directions.

  • • Grass lot directly beside the Start/Finish; the blue-highlighted area on the map is handicap parking.
  • • All traffic enters and exits from the east, near the Creekside Apartments.
  • • Volunteers will place you in a spot. Be patient at 6 AM; it moves fast.
  • • No street or lot parking anywhere else. It's all private property, and being invited back every year depends on it.
If GPS isn't your thing: turn-by-turn

Spectators

For spectators: how to see them more than twice

Someone you love is out there for one to six hours. Here's the plan.

Track them live with RaceJoy

Download the free RaceJoy app, find the Sackets Harbor Marathon, and follow their GPS dot in real time, with progress alerts and cheers they actually hear mid-race. Set it up the night before; race morning is not app-store time.

Need their bib number? Look them up ↗

Where to stand

Five spots, each with a directions button that opens your own maps app, on the interactive map. The half turnaround doubles as marathon mile 20: the wall. Your cowbell matters most there.

One rule

Never drive on the race course. Use Route 3 to move between viewing spots; every spot is reached from Rt 3.

Golf-cart shuttles: Chamber of Commerce volunteers shuttle spectators (and stiff-legged finishers) between the Start/Finish and Main Street all morning. Ride over, explore the shops, ride back for the finish.
